Frequently Asked Questions
How to get to Bocas Town from Panama City, David or Costa Rica?
From Panama, there are two main options to reach Bocas del Toro.
Bus
The first option, longer but more affordable, is the bus from the Albrook terminal in Panama City.
The journey takes approximately 11 hours and costs around $30.
Departure is usually around 8:00 PM from Panama City, with arrival around 6:00 AM in Almirante, the coastal town. From there, you take a taxi to the port (approximately $1) and then a boat to Bocas Town (approximately $8).
The buses are comfortable, but the air conditioning can be quite strong, so we recommend bringing a sweater.
The road between David and Almirante crosses mountain passes with winding roads.
It is also possible to stop in David to visit Boquete or Volcán before continuing to Bocas del Toro.
Plane
Much faster and more comfortable, but significantly more expensive, flights with Air Panama connect Panama City (Albrook Airport) to Bocas del Toro.
Flights are daily and cost approximately $100 per person.

How to get to La Purita Ecolodge from Bocas Town?
La Purita Ecolodge is located on Solarte Island, in the heart of lush and preserved nature.
We offer a boat transfer from Isla Colón (Bocas Town).
The trip takes about 15 minutes and costs approximately $20 for two people. The price per person decreases if more than three people share the boat.
The crossing allows you to discover nearby islands, mangroves and turquoise waters before arriving at La Purita.
It is also possible to organize transportation independently. Water taxis depart from the Bocas Town port and from the dock near the municipal market.
